1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how StreamWays ("we," "us," "our") handles information when you use our website and music distribution service (the "Service"). It applies to artists, labels, and other Users who register for an account, as well as visitors browsing our site. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in a few different ways, depending on how you use the Service:
Account information: name, email address, and password when you register.
Artist and release information: artist or label name, release titles, cover art, audio files, ISRC/UPC codes, and genre tags.
Metadata and payee information: songwriter, publisher, producer, and collaborator names, roles, and royalty split percentages that you submit so we can register and pay out royalties correctly.
Payment information: when you purchase a plan, payment is processed by a third-party payment processor; we do not store full card numbers on our own servers.
Usage and analytics data: pages visited, streaming and download performance data returned to us by DSPs for your releases, and general trend/genre data we use to power features like our Trends page.
Communications: messages you send us through the contact form or by email, including any details you choose to include.
3. How We Use Information
To deliver your releases to DSPs and register the correct payee splits;
To calculate, track, and pay out royalties owed to you and your collaborators;
To operate account features such as billing, plan management, and support;
To provide tools like pre-save campaigns, smart links, and trend insights;
To detect and prevent fraud, spam uploads, or violations of our Terms;
To respond to your inquiries and send service-related communications, such as release status updates.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to operate the Service:
Digital service providers (DSPs): release metadata, audio files, and payee split information are shared with platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and others so your music can be delivered and royalties correctly attributed.
Collecting societies and royalty administrators: songwriter and publisher information may be shared with mechanical and performance rights organizations to help resolve unmatched ("black box") royalty claims.
Service providers: vendors who help us operate the Service, such as payment processors, cloud hosting, and email delivery, under confidentiality obligations.
Legal requirements: when required to comply with a law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of StreamWays or others.

6. Data Retention
We retain account, release, and payee information for as long as your account is active and as needed to fulfill ongoing royalty obligations, including after a release is taken down, since royalties can continue to be reported and owed for a period after distribution ends. We may retain limited records longer where required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. You can update most account and release details directly from your dashboard, or contact us at hello@streamways.net to make a request. Note that deleting certain payee information may affect our ability to pay royalties owed to you or your collaborators.
8. Data Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect the information you share with us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
